DCW FAQ's

Can my spouse come to the conference with me?
Yes. Discount rates are available for spouses of full-paying registrants. A spouse may attend all of the classroom sessions and observe the small group sessions. Spouses do not give speeches or participate in the small group process. The cost for a spouse (including food & lodging) is $798

How much will it cost for my spouse to come with me if he/she doesn't participate?
We only have one rate for spouses.

Will my spouse and I have any free time and what is there to do?
Our workshop schedule is very full. Unfortunately, there is very little free time. Meals and some of the afternoon on the fourth day are about all the free time there is. If your spouse is looking for some alone time, then this may be a good option.

Do I have to stay on-site?
Yes. Due to our contractual obligations with our facilities, we must insist that students stay on-site.

If I need to arrive early to the conference, can I stay the night before at the facility?
Rarely. Most of the time our facilities are full on the weekends prior to and following the workshop. The best option is usually to stay at a hotel nearby.

If I can't stay on-site early, where will I stay?
The best option is to find a nearby hotel if you are driving or an airport hotel if you are flying.

How far is the airport from the facility?
The Asheville airport is about 20 minutes from The Cove.

What are the directions to the facility?
Directions are provided with your registration confirmation. You can also see directions at these links: The Cove http://www.bgtc.info/index.asp?id=3.

What time should I book my flight to arrive at the airport, if I'm going to take the shuttle or arrive at the conference on time?
We suggest you book your flights to arrive by 1 pm. Registration begins at 4 pm and Dinner is at 5 pm.

What happens if I miss the shuttle?
Unfortunately, we are unable to delay the shuttle's departure due to late or missed flights. If you miss the shuttle you will be responsible to find your own transportation to the conference site.

When should I book my flight to depart if I'm taking the shuttle back to the airport?
We suggest that you book your flight to depart after 1 pm.

How much will the shuttle cost?
The shuttle price varies depending upon the conference location and the number of expected riders. It is usually between $20 and $49 round trip and is first come, first served.

Are there one-way fares for the shuttle?
We are unable to offer 1 way fares.

What if I can't make it to the conference until the first morning?
While we encourage you to do everything you possibly can to be with us for the beginning of the conference, we understand that sometimes life gets in the way. Generally you can miss the first evening and still be able to catch up. But if you miss the first morning classroom sessions, you will likely be lost the rest of the week. We would rather have you attend a future conference.

What happens if I end up having to cancel because of an unexpected scheduling conflict?
The registration deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancellations occurring before 1 month prior to the workshop will have the option of transferring their registration to the next workshop or a refund of amounts paid minus the registration deposit. No refunds will be given within one month of the workshop.

What if I am coming alone to the conference, who will I room with?
You will be assigned a roommate.

If I pay in full, will that guarantee me space in either the cabin lodging or single room lodging?
Cabin Lodging and Single Room Lodging is limited and available on first-come, first-served and space-available basis. The best thing to do is to register early!

How many other DCW conferences will be held this year?
Please check our website for the latest workshop dates and locations.

What other locations are Ken's DCW conference held at?
Please check our website for the latest workshop dates and locations.

What should I wear to the conference?
Dress is casual. Please be comfortable.

What if I have dietary needs?
Please contact us to see if we can accommodate your needs.

When is my balance due?
Your balance is due in full one month prior to the workshop. You will receive a balance due letter approximately 6 to 8 weeks prior to the workshop.

How many people will attend the workshop?
There are usually 80 to 120 students.

Will Ken be speaking at this event? While Ken may not be able to be at the entire workshop, he does teach extensively at every one.

Are scholarships available? If so, How do I apply for a scholarship?
Yes, we have a limited number of partial scholarships available to ministry personnel in need of assistance. Please e-mail your detailed request to DCW@kendavis.com.

Can I take the workshop for college credit?
Many colleges, universities and seminaries have given their students credit for taking the workshop. It is best to check with your advisor ahead of time to make those arrangements. We can provide you with a course syllabus upon request.

What kind of people attend this event? Is it just of Pastors, or do professional people attend as well?
While the majority of our students are Pastors, youth pastors or people in some kind of vocational ministry, we do have students from all walks of life; teachers, corporate executives, business owners, medical personnel and even people from Homeland Security, are just some examples.
